What is the name of your state? I'm in India

Hi,
If I win a fellowship (awarded by a US university) and attend a 2-month training in a major paper's newsroom in the US, would I be given a J-visa or a M-visa?

I need to know because I want to go for a 1-year media training after the 2-month newsroom training, and if I'm issued j-1 for the 2-month training, then I won't be able to apply for a j-1 again (as per US laws).

Any clarifications on this issue will be much appreciated. Thanks!
 
who told you you couldn't apply for J-1 again?????????????????????????????????????? that's just silly.

You will most likely get J-1 visas for both assignments. :)
