I am on a J1 visa with HRR. I am engaged and would like to get married. He is an American. Can I get married without completing the HRR regulation or without getting a waiver?
you can get married. However, you cannot adjust your status (get a green card) or get an immigrant visa, K visa or a work visa without a waiver or without fulfilling HRR. That's the rule.
