Have a doubt - I have papers from university B and just curious to know if I can use the university A visa to join university B.
Please let me know if this is a possibility?

Well, I don't remember exactly now but I guess they print program code and sponsor's name on visa stamp. Check it out. If so, you can NOT join university B on visa stamp for university A. If not so, get it clarified from the consulate's during their public inquiry hours before joining university B. Anyway, once they have stamped your passport for J-1, I guess there should not be any problem in getting another visa stamp for another university if the first stamp was university specific as I mentioned above. You might have to spend new visa fees.

Now the INS has implemented computerized SEVIS system to track students - so don't do anything illegal that might jeopardize your future plans.
