Hello all,
I have some questions for you.
I am planning to travel to Canada to get my H1b stamped. This is first time I will be leaving US since 1999.
My situation.
1999 came on J1
2000 changed to F-1
2002 changed to H1b
2002 filed labor certification, still pending
2005 renewed H1b with first company, valid until May 2008
2005 got second H1b with another company, so I have two h1b petitions.
Have original I-95 from 1999 in passport and expired J1 visa.
What would like to do is to travel to Toronto and get my visa stamped since I need to travel outside US.
1. How many days shell I stay in Canada for visa processing?
2. How far in advance do I have to schedule the appointment with US embassy?
3. Are there any complications in terms of getting FIRST H1b stamp in the country other than my native (Ukraine)
4. Is there any particular time of the year to do such project? I mean would it be better to travel winter or spring?
5. Do I have to get visa with Canadian embassy if I want to enter Canada? I am planning driving to Toronto.
Thanks in advance.
