J1 and marriage

I have been in the Us before on H2B visa when i met my actual girlfriend then i went home to my home country to romania, now i came back on J1 visa and on my visa it says that " bearer is subject to section 212 (e), two years rule does apply".
We would like to get married very soon. So I would like to know what can happen in this situation, do i have to go home and get waiver or through marriage J1 visa doesnt count anymore. i would need to be clear with this situation. can you please help!
