Just recently I have found out that once you get your waiver J-1 visa cannot be extended . The thing is that I got my waiver two years ago (after two years of being in US, I was planning to change my status but plans suddenly changed) and since then I have already extended my visa twice. I don't know how it was possible but somehow happened. So now my question is whether my waiver (based on no objection letter from embassy) is still valid or I should apply for a new one (is it possible to apply one more time???). It's my fith year on J-1 and next year I would like to switch to H-1.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
