This evening I've got a message about approval.
RD Feb 15,2000
FP April of 2004
Asylum granted in 1998, applied in Feb 1991. It took a little bit longer then we expected, but anyway it's a good news.
So far only one out of 4 members of my family is still waiting. It's my husband, and I hope to get it very soon. All RD are about the same.

Congrats Nana. It seems that we are having a spree of approvals and this means that the INS is gradually becoming efficient.

No it is not true. there is a filing fee for asylees and refugees (see the instructions for the correct amount).

Refugees do NOT have to pay the filing fee but asylees do.

Five years ago I paid $245.00 filing fee for application to adjust to perm. resident status. In addition around 100 dollars for medical exam.

The best wishes for everybody, this year will be good for many of us!
