IV descheduled

Just got in the mail NOA for IV descheduled due to " unforeseen circumstances " , no new date mentioned. what could be the reason ?

your thoughts please.

I guess patience is the name of the game !!!!

But, who deschedules the interview, is it the Service Center or the District Office?

Isn't true that interview is done even without the namecheck results being recieved , I have seen many posts where the officers advise the applicants at the end of the interview that their name check is pending, although they passed the civic and English tests.


As you said, if it is not the name check delay and If the descheduling is done by the DO, I had the feeling that it is due to NYC being over booked for the date and time they initially set?

I am just wondering what they mean by using the term " unforeseen circumstances ".

How does that sound?

Unforseen Circumstances

I had the same experience with the USCIS.

From my experience "Unforseen Circumstances" implies "chaos". No one has a clue as to what is happening.

It sounds like the "Miscellaneous" folks in the Accounting profession use to account for "Unaccounted/Untraceble Expenses.

So basically my advice is you better start doing something on your own to dig into the situation.

I spoke to my attorney, she said it could be as simple as my interview date falling in Good Friday ( 04/14/06 ).

Does this mean that my file has already been assigned to an officer who is observing Good Friday ??

Any one with any experience of Descheduling IV, Please share your experience.

It's probably the namecheck. USCIS is starting to face a lot of 8 USC 1447b lawsuits due to the delay caused by unfinished namechecks. The only way to avoid these lawsuits, at least until Congress amends the law, is to delay the interview until the applicants namecheck is completed.

I agree with bashar82, I believe is 99% chances that you Name Check is still pending, and CIS flooded with lawsuits is trying to prevent giving you the opportunity to sue them 120 after the interview.

"Unforeseen circumstances" is the standard b.s. lingo used by CIS.

My Oath ceremony was descheduled for "unforeseen circumstances" after I became an American citizen...go figure :D

From CIS's perspective this may be the case :D

But at this point in time, I don't give a rat ass about what they think :D :D

...not to mention that I got an interview appointment for April, 2006. I wouldn't be surprise if I get an "interview deschedule" note due to FBI Name Check pending :D :D

I have a question for you, did the NOA you received have the USCIS "watermarked" logo in the background? or, was it a white sheet of paper (size 8.5 x 11) with the material xeroxed?

Dont be surprised if you receive a notice that the interview has been cancelled !

Both, the Oath deschedule and the Interview notice are on the "watermarked" paper.

Ooops, I didn't notice the question was for foreverafter :o

We are still at the INTERVIEW (deschedule). The OATH (deschedule) comes later.

My INTERVIEW (deschedule) was on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper without a USCIS Logo.

I have company. I thought I was alone in the MESS.

I have the same experience. In my case it was due to missing the A file. Apparantly my A file was not sent to the DO from the SC.

I doubt that the CIS will hold interviews till name check clears...that will make them the bottle neck instead of the FBI. I am sure CIS won't like that.

How did you came to know that the reason for descheduling your IV was due to your file not being received by the DO?

Did you do Infopass , Call the customer services or any other means ? And how long did you waited before starting inquiring?

To avoid being the bottleneck, they indeed usually ignore their own regulations. But that only resulted in more lawsuits, so it may be that they actually return to following their regs...

I did right away. I first wrote letters, then took the first available info pass and found out.
 
My interview was descheduled also....I took an infopass and the only thing they could tell me was that my finger prints cleared and nothing else.

I believe , you don't need an infopass to check if your FP is sent back to USCIS , you could call the FBI and they would have confirmed that.

1) Do you mean on your infopass, the officer told you that your NAME CHECK is cleared ?

2) Did they rescheduled your IV or you are still waiting for new appointment ?
