Our H1 extension was approved in July 7th and our I-485 's LUD changed to July 8th, July 19th and July 20th. Our RD was Feb. 2003 and 1st FP was May, 2003. Since our FP is expiring next month and our LUD was changed recently, I have every reason to hope: We didn't change job, didn't move, just got H1 extension, the company is in good shape, another guy in same company just got 485 approval...

This morning, I got 4 emails from INS. I was so excited. But is was RFE notice. Sigh!!! I just don't know what they want to know more and when we respond the RFE, our FP will expire. Then we have to wait for 2nd FP notice and ...a long way to go.

Yeah... Its disappointing. Its even more disappointing to people waiting from 2001 and early 2002 when their cases are not even touched whereas your case got touched atleast. Once the RFE is thru, you may get your approval soon. So...hang on..

keep the hope alive! At least your file is not collecting dust! Think of the people who get an RFE or a transfer after two years of RD. Yes, second FP is becoming a problem..

I know how bad the 2001 and 2002 filers feel. But my case might be the same with theirs. Who know? As I said, after REF, our FP will expire. And we have to wait for the 2nd FP. This might take one year. After 2nd FP, we might not hear anything for a long time. Anyway, our case was touched. But our journey might not end in another one or two years.

Thank you. I think they touched our case was because of the H1 extention. It was a good chance but we missed. Who knows when they are going to touch it again? It might collect dust too. That's what I'm afraid of. The process could stop any time, as you know.

yours is RFE only. You should be happy when compare to cases like me.

Already responded to RFE (EVL). Hope to get FP2 notice soon!

Send your RFE response as soon as possible. They will approve immediately the as FP is expiring.

Hi guys,
I think that you people (who got RFE just before FP1 expiry) will not need a FP2 even if the FP1 expires when you send the RFE reply. It is because the Officer would have done your security check before issuing RFE. So if you respond in 1 month time and if the officer looks at your file within a month, then they don't need to check your security record again. So no need for FP2.
I have seen a couple of cases like this.

dsatish,

I am about to fax letter for name check status.
please clarify, if one gets RFE means their security check(FBI name check) done???
