Hey guys!

Sorry for posting on multiple forums.

I believe the ITIN is required for the spouse (on H4) for Consular processing.

Does the IRS ask for the "in status" proof? My spouse's I-94 was till 1st week of August. We have already filed for her extension before that date.

How long does it take to get the ITIN for the spouse?

Obviously its been long time since i applied for ITIN for my wife back in 2000. But that time it took about 3 weeks (definitely less than a month)
 
I just searched for ITIN and found this application form which explains what all documents are required....

You may want to include photocopy of her expired visa stamp fromt he passport and photocopy of extension application receipt
