I am TN visa holder working in US through a consultancy company working for a client .
As i am facing issues whenever i re enter the USA after visiting my family. They always sent me to secondary inspection and they suspect me of collecting unemployment insurance from state of CA.
this happened because
As I was with my former office collegue once crossing the border as we went together for my new TN visa as I had changed my employer and he was just accompanying me .I believe since he was from pakistan origin but a canadian citizen, they grilled him for 3 hrs while i was made to sit outside .
he told them that he had lost the job recently in california and was collecting unemployment insurance from state of CA . Everybody in Customs and border protection accused him of fraud for collecting money from US.and they
even checked my background and they denied both of us entry on that day but i was asked to come on a working day so that they could talk to my new employer.eventually in the next working day I went there alone and they gave my TN visa but now they have messed up my record that everytime I go through the airport I am sent to secondary
inspection and the officers ask me the same question wether i am collecting unemployement from US
so everytime I show them my paystubs explain to them and i have to spend considerable time
in the secondary inspection area. Is there any way I can solve this issue legally to stop
this kind of harrassement. This is has been going on for a year.
