My attorney expects that my GC be approved in a month or so after August 1. I have an emergency international trip in early Aug. I have two questsions below:

1. Are there any problems if my GC is approved when I am overseas?

2. I plan to return on a valid AP. Are there any problems on AP after GC is approved? Can I still return on AP?

Thanks in advance..

Doesn't matter - the POE can still parole you in.

Thanks, TheRealCanadian. I plan to travel as originally scheduled. My I-485 might be approved next month. I have a P.O. BOX at local post office and I always request that all my mail be forwarded to my P.O.BOX until I return. However, my attorney says that post office dosen't forward USCIS mail to P.O.BOX so USCIS mail will be returned. When I asked local post office, one agent said that they will deliver all mail to my mialbox, the other agent said that for mail from goverment, they will leave a slip in the mailbox indicating this mail need to be picked up before certain date otherwise will be returned to sender. TheRealCanadian, should I trust the post office to leave slip for every government mail or should I cancel my forwarding service and have all mail be delivered to my home directly?

Last year my I-485 was approved when I was overseas. After 2 weeks of approval, I returned on AP and was paroled in without any issues.

Nope - USCIS will not mail you a letter to a PO box - if you have put a forward to a PO box but the letter says on the top DO NOT FORWARD TO A PO BOX, that letter will be sent back to the sender...
