Hi everybody,

My case spent in Texas over a year and was transferred to NBC for interview. We had interview on May 28. The officer said she will approve our cases when we submit Good Conduct Certificate from the police for my wife (FP were not clear). We submitted the certificate two weeks ago. Nothing is happening since the interview.

Do you think that visa # might be assigned to the cases??? Did anybody hear about similar situation.

Any info will be appreciated...

Visa # is assigned at the very last moment before they push the button to produce the card, never earlier (by law).

That's not by law, that's just normal procedure. The law doesn't stop them from assigning a visa number a month or two before pushing the last button. For consular processing, they regularly preallocate a block of visa numbers to each consulate each month, then the consulate sends back the numbers for applicants who get rejected at the interview.

It is possible. But you won't know unless you get approved within the next few weeks.

Luckily you are in EB3 ROW with an old PD, so if they haven't already assigned a visa number you'll become eligible for approval again in October.
