Hi,
Almost one year no approval. (rd 10/16/02,
nd: 11/17/02, PD: 2/23/01)
FP; 3/26/02 SJ.

From company's lawyer: should not talk to iio. Until the JIT pass my rd (nd?) one more month, they can fax to ins.

But, is it useful to call IIO ?

What's the next message after "process resumed..."

I don't think so

Well, it seems like it really does not help to talk to the IIO. When I called up a few days ago, I was told that the case was still not assigned and that it would happen sometime soon. Hopefully is has been assigned, but...

No

Unless you have a super screwed case, in which you might have to call IIO's multiple times to get a clue.

???

So, you all are mentioning that we should NOT talk to IIO. I just spoke to one yesterday. What's going to happen now?????

IIO Responses

In my 10 months of filing till approval I'd have talked to IIO may be 5-6 times. Out of that only once I got the information that "case is in progress", which was one month before my approval. "case in progress" may be equivalent to "case assigned" ! All other times I got standard answer based on JIT. Now they may say "We are processing Sep 01 cases, since yours is in Nov/Dec it will take 2-3 months!" There may be very few officers who'll give 'case assigned' information. In my opinion, it won't hurt calling IIO, if you talk polite to them and do not call very often.

My attorney was also strongly against calling IIOs.
