is this true that we can\'t leave US while 485 pending?

Hi all
Is this true that we can\'t leave US while 485 pending? even who are on h1/h4? I have seen many people going and coming.
what is the exact reason and any risk if we go?

please comment/share your experiences.

no risk whatsoever...

no risk whatsoever... you can leave as long as you have, along with your I-485 receiepts, the following:

1. approved H1 with stamp on the passport, OR
2. Advance Parole accompanied by a valid EAD card.

I have a valid H1 till bext year but the visa stamp expired last year. I did not extend it as I have
an AP. I have the EAD alos but still maintaining my H1 status. I am planning to go to India for a month.
   Anyone in the same status had any issues at Delhi while coming back ?
