Last Friday I called USCIS and 2nd level IO told im in the Q for interview and today IO told me I am not in the Q. Is this possible that I was not in the Q in first place or I was in the Q but they pulled me out. Please reply. Thank you

I was told the same thing on numerous occasions. Once morning I called USCIS 5 times..I received 3 answers that were the same, and two that were different. After calling back several times over the next few weeks I went with the answer the majority of the IOs told me.

My guess is that some IOs will say you are in the queue when they see your background checks have cleared, whereas other IOs will only say you are in queue for an interview when a date has been scheduled. It's likely has to do with how the IO you speas to interprets the data on their screen. Next time you call, if the IO tells you that you are in queue, ask the IO what they mean (ie:your checks are cleared or you have been scheduled for interview).

To add, first time I called they said 'you are in queue from x date'. When I called next week, the IO tells me I am in queue from 'y' date. So either they are interpreting the data or there is a field on screen that says 'ready for interview' and a last update date.

It's definitely the way the IOs are interpreting what's in the system..I doubt that mass IOs would purposely give out the wrong information just to mess with us.

I didnt mean that they are misleading. Either they are interpreting bunch of information - hence variation in interpretation or the software/system behind the scheduling is updating few fields like 'Ready For Interview' with a last updated field. And it could be acting up based on tons of stuff thats happening in the background. Remember, USCIS is the one who came up with concept of 'In Q for interview' and pretty much every IO seem to use same language when giving out information.

Thank you guys. Again I spoke to another IO and he said you are not in the Q for interview yet and your case is still at National Benefit Center. When I asked him how manny days it will take he said may be 15 to 30 but can't say for sure. He also said you can inquire your case with NBC if you want. I asked him if my background check is cleared and he said we don't discuss this things. Do you think I should wait or I should email NBC and find out and if yes please tell me what should I write. Thank you

I wasn't implying that you were saying they were misleading on purpose, but others may jump to that conclusion. Like you said, it's in the way they interpret the data that is behind the reason for different answers.
