Experts,

Is this enough evidence to file for the I-130? Is it better to hold onto most of ones evidence to present at interview or "flooding" USCIS with ample evidence in the submission of the forms makes the interview "easier"? Also we can get life insurance policies naming each other as beneficiaries however wouldn't that be obvious since date on said life insurance documents will be close to the date of document submission?

1. I-130 and Supporting Documents

a. Copy of Unexpired US Passport for Jane Doefemale
b. Copy of US Birth Certificate for Jane Doefemale
c. Copy of Divorce Certificate of John Doemale from previous spouse Nxxx Dxxxxx Dxxxx
d. One endorsed Passport size photo each for Jane and John
e. G-325 A for Jane Doefemale
f. G-325A for John Doemale
g. Two Affidavits of Personal Knowledge by Third Parties
i. One from Deborah Doefemale who is Jane’s mother
ii. One from Rxxx Lxxx-Axxxx who is John Doemale’s friend
h. Comingling of Financial Resources
i. Joint Bank Statement from Bank of America with payroll direct deposit for both
ii. Car Insurance naming both parties from Progressive Insurance
iii.401k Account Forms with each other as Beneficiaries not notarized
1. Federal law says your spouse is automatically the beneficiary of your 401k or other pension plan so no notary needed.
iv. John’s IRA Statement naming Jane as Sole Beneficiary
v. Notarized Will by both Jane and John naming each other as Beneficiaries
vi. Photo of Bank of America Credit Card in both names for the same account
vii. BGE Electric/Gas Utility Bills in both Jane and John’s name
viii. Comcast Cable Bills in both Jane and John’s name

i. Joint Ownership of Property
i. Vehicle Registration Title in John’s names [Jane cannot title a vehicle, see below]
ii. Home ownership documents in John’s name
1.John owned the property before marriage. Maryland is a community property state and Jane has tax liability hence IRS can place liens on property she co owns with John, we decided not to add her to the title on our residential property at 9xxx Bxxxxx Bxxxx Drive till said loans are cleared

j. Other Relevant Documentation
i. Drivers Licenses showing same address for both Jane and John
ii. Transcripts of text message correspondence between Jane and John between February and March 2011.
iii. Cell Phone Itemized Bills showing communication history and confirming phone calls and text messages between Jane and John from January 2010 to underline the commencement of our relationship from July 2009.
iv. Photos of Jane and John and their families
v. Proof of International Trip by Jane last month to visit John’s parents including airline ticket stubs, pictures in Africa with John’s family
vi. Letters to both Jane and John at same address
vii. Maryland MVA Transcript for Jane
1. We were unable to jointly register and title our second Vehicle because Jane has an outstanding insurance violation fines worth approx $2000 of which we’ve paid off $1000 at the MVA. MVA suspends ones registration privileges until the fine is paid in full [See Printout from MVA website Confirming this]. For this reason we titled the vehicle solely in John’s name. We hope to pay off the fines and title the vehicle in both names by the interview time.

Is "John" inside or outside the US? If inside, why are you not filing I-485?

But to answer your main question, it's better to submit just a few key documents with the application, and then bring the rest of the evidence to the interview. In particular, don't send the personal affidavits from friends and family. Those are a last resort for people whose other evidence is weak. But they can be brought to the interview in case the interviewer wants to see them.

John is inside and we are filing with a concurrent I-485. Thanks for the pointers, which documents of the list do you suggest we submit with the filing? Thanks in advance!
