Is this a way to see if your Natz case is progressing ?

You can create an account with USCIS.gov and enter a couple of case numbers there. That way you will be sent an email if there is an outcome or adjudication.

There is an interesting field called "Last Updated" often called the date the application was last "touched". If there some king of significant change to
the petition, then this date will change.

I am wondering about the usefulness of this information on Naturalization applicants. Would it change if your namecheck clears ? or if your file moves to the District office ?

It may be a good idea to check this date every once in a while

Just thought this will be useful for some of you :)

Thanks Rahul. I finished my interview on 5th of January but the updated date showing 10/30/04 only. This is the date when they mailed me the interview letter. So what does this mean??

It means that this system is not as up-to-date as we expect it to be. You can also "assume" your oath date is not yet mailed out (going by the same logic)...

Update date.

My wife's case also shows update on 10/30/04 - although nothing we know about happened then.

Her Priority Date is May 21, 04
She had her FP in July, 04

I have a priority date of January 3rd for the Dallas office, and when I try and check the status of my case it returns an error "Attempting to add a case that does not exist", not sure if this means that the office has not updated the system. Has anyone else experienced something similar to this?

Thanks!

Exactly the same. My PD is 12/22/04 and the online case status said "Attempting to add a case that does not exist". I am waiting for FP notice now and hope to get it soon.

I had my interview this week but when I checked my online case status it showed that the last time it was updated was: 04/14/2003 :(

FYI, I received nothing at that time. NADA...

Man I can't wait until I get done with these mothers... :D

Tracking N-400 online problem

From this forum, it looks like some people can track their application and some people can not, using the Case Status Portfolio.

My conclusion is that it takes "a while" from the filing date until the record is created in CLAIMS4, the system that feeds the US CIS web page.

Now, I do not know if this "a while" timeframe is before or after FP appointment. Can anyone share their experience?

Thanks so much!

My conclusion, CIS systems suck big time.

In my case, I just received my interview notice. But the case status still showes the same message as from day 1 (your application was received..... it takes ... days to process.....). And the last updated time has not changed either (still showing the receipt date). But some people saw their online status disappeared when they received interview notices; some said their status have remained unchanged even after they took the oath.

Hi Guys,
Today I, for the very first time, registerd and checked my case status online(thanks to Rahul for posting the web link -:)) . My Application was updated on 11/1/2004, however last time I heard anything from INS was in early Sept(when they sent me my FP notice).
My timelines are
Applied (Charlotte NC) Jul 30 04
fingerprint sept 23 04

Does anyone have any clue what does it means?Does it means my namecheck clears?

Thanks

O you guys are talking about the online case status through the Service centers. I can't even find my case online. It says your case doesn't exist.
But what I was referring to is the online account that CIS allows you to open with them where you can add a case number. When I did that regarding my case, it gave me a last update date of April 2003. The only thing that happened then was I believe the receit of my first interview which CIS cancelled because my file was not in the right office. Go figure!?!?!?!?!?!

This is what I get when I put my receit #:
