I met the love of my life on a dating website. I've talked with her over webcam, AND heard her voice over VOIP chat, so I know she's real (all I haven't done is seen her in person). I originally wanted a fiance visa (K1, to be exact), but I've run into a bit of a... technicality... that could easily prevent me from getting it.

However, what if I were to sponsor her for a work visa, hire her as a household maid, then marry her when she's here?

Would that work?

Specialist skilled jobs.....such as engineering, medical technologists, financial managers, architects etc

Also 'you' wouldnt apply for her visa....it would be the company that sponsors her that would need to.
These jobs usually require a degree or 12 years work experience.

Your Best Bet may be to take a trip to her country of origin and meet her in person.

I am still awaiting for the OP to explain what technicality is stopping him for sponsoring a K-1 visa. I know being married is one such technicality.
