Is there fast track PIO?

I heard people can get PIO in 48 hours if there is a real need...
The embassy in SF says it takes 30 days to get done. Has anyone heard of it taking less than that?
something like - 7 days?

If you go inperson, they should do it the same day. Atleast thats what my friend did in NYC

I went in person. They charge extra for rush service. Said it will take 20 days, but got notification that it was done in 7.
stipulation was that i collect it in person, not courier.
