Is there any need for H4 extension once you apply I485

I applied for the 485 in septemebr, But I didn\'t received any Receipt for 485. Mean while my wife h4 visa validity epired on october 1st. Do I need to file for her extension. I have the Valid H1b till 2003.
Can some one help in this matter

I applied for 485 for me and my wife. I applied for ead and ap for my wife. For both, the present h1/h4 expires on 30 nov 01.

i sent my details to my co lawyer for h1 extension. (my coy policy is not to get EAD ). Lawyer said i have to apply for h4 extension for my wife if

she is not going to work. that is not going to use her EAD at all.

SO if your wife have a EAD and does not work you need to have a h4 status. Once she works her h status will be automatically cancelled and her ead status takes effect. This is what i understood.

Thanks for your posting. I applied for for h4 renewal for safety. I asked my lawyer, he said not required , but no harm in applying for it. It is only matter of 120 dollars for the fee. we have not applied for EAD with the 485. So i thought of applying for h4 renewal.
Are you sending it for visa stamping in near future or you are going for Advance payroll for traveling purpose??
