i am in the same boat, my "LUD" changed to 5-6 -04 possibly after my employer an interested govt. agency sent a request for expedite. Whereas the congressional person was checking my case every month was always told "name check" pending.
Once in mArch i saw an email to the congressional person stating that my name check was done but my spouse FP was pending. And her request was second Fp was processed the same day and no approval for her.
In the meantime from this forum i sent a name check enquiry via fax and got an expidited response stating name check pending since jan 2003 and i could not be helped any further. has any body seen such a response?
I also called the INS 800 # after the LUD of 5-04 and was told by the tier 2 officer that some thing was done to my file possibly name check .
To my surprise the my job requires back ground check and my file is stuck.
I have been in this country since 1993 studying and and now working.
My I-140 was processed in 1998 but waited honestly for 3 years to apply for i -485 , most people who did not follow the rules applied for their green cards will now be applying for citizenship.
And the worse part is every one in my office knows why one has to go for finger prints 4 times in 2 years.
