Hi everyone,
My Wife's employer submitted many applications (cap-exempt) and haven't given he information about her specific application. Is there a way to check it using SS # or some other info? (It's a change of status from TN to H1B)

I remember reading something about it in this forum, but searched and couldn't find anything :(

Thanks

You could try to call the customer service number and see if they'll help you out but I'm pretty sure that you'll be disappointed.
No harm done in trying.

H1B is an employer petition. Even if it was possible to locate it based on your name or SSN, only the employer can call them and ask for that, so its pointless. Get the receipt number from your employer.

Thanks a lot for your responses . The employer, an Independent School District for a big city, has been reluctant to keep the applicants updated, except for the ones that had their visa already approved. It doesn't make sense to me, but we have been told that they are sloppy at handling cases/paperwork....

Sorry I missed the fact that you don't have the receipt number.

When was your application filed? If it was filed before April 1, 2008 then you have a good chance of getting approved in 3 to 4 months.
