Is the interview and oath the same day?

I noticed that some have the interview and oath on the same day some on different dates. What would be the usual case? The interveiw and oath take place on the same day or have to reschdule the oath date after completing the interview?

It is up to the interviewer officer. Not all DOs (district offices) don't have the interview and oath on the same day.

1) Name change may postpone the oath ceremony.
2) Full seats in the oath ceremony may force IO to reschedule the oath or full appointments may force IO to reserve the oath day for you. suppose: If interview takes place at 2 pm, the oath takes place at 3 pm. It may be too late to get the oath.
3) Not making a decision yet - need more information on your N-400 case may postpone the oath or need to verify it.
4) oath schedule or conditions is subject to change without furthermore notice.
5) your own request to postpone the oath -- personal reasons: emergency trip, family trip, vacation trip, business trip, etc.
