Is stamping "overlap" permissible ?

My wife's stamping expires on Nov. 10th 2008 . She is eligible for a three year extension and has filed for it on July 15th . We are planning to go to India in Oct because of a certain urgent personal situation and planning on coming back by 5th of Nov.

My question is

While she is India and assuming she gets the new I 797 approval by then - Can she appear for a stamping interview (Even while her old stamping is still valid ) Please note She is planning to appear for stamping on 20th Oct. but her old stamping is valid till Nov 10th . Is such an overlap of about a month OK and allowed ?

Assuming the answer to above question is negative - Can she face problems at the port of entry on 6th Nov. because the stamping expires on 10th Nov. ?

Sure, you don't need to wait for your stamp to expire before you can get a new one. As soon you have the I-797 she can get a new stamp with the new expiration date.
