Is RFI another CIS stunt or what?

Hello Guys! According to a recent post (lee_haircut's brother) ND Jan 2001 has received this new RFI thing/material. Remember a lot of people received FP notices some time ago with ND of 2004. So I am wondering if this is just another CIS drama to agonize or what?

One reason in favor that it cannot be a stunt is that medicals expire in 1 year. So CIS, in their minds, would not send request for medicals if they had not intended to adjust within atleast one year.

Any thoughts??

Well it looks like RFI is another stunt. Hey FP's also expire in 15 months but lots of 2004 applicants were fingerprinted even though they had 12 years to wait.

I think the reason they are doing this is to filter out other unwanted asylees..I mean that maybe lots of asylees have moved on and gotten married or adjusted some other way..You never know. This is another attempt by them to "clear" their work....

It has an expiry of May 2005.

So in my humble opinion..this is CIS's ploy to "clean out the mess" again....Its funny not everyone gets RFI's..and only some ppl while others get approved without any RFI's(shamsons cousin , nd of 08/00)....

Can anyone with the RFI..call CIS..and just ask them after how long will u get ur G.C?..etc? ask them that..sometimes they do give u good answers..but its a tossup.

Ok - so far my bro has the LATEST ND (Jan 2001), among those who get the RFI.

Could anyone else who got RFI (yellow paper) share what their ND? If anybody with ND of 2004 got RFI - then we know that this is just another ploy.

However, if only people up to Jan 2001 got RFI - then this may not be a ploy after all. Perhaps, they are preparing to process faster in conjunction with that Ngwanya lawsuit??

Just a thought... So time to share. Those who got RFI, please post your ND.

looks like your brother is the luckiest one that has gotten a RFI..no one that I know who has 01/2001 date has gotten any rfi's..go figure..Sorry to say but I wish i was your brother my man!

Well if they stop at ND's of Jan 2001 for this year, then I would NOT think that its a ploy. HOwever if ND's keeps rolling forward (2004) then I would definitely not take it very seriously.

By the way this new RFI procedure has just been started by CIS a month or so ago. If it is not a ploy then those who are sending RFI's back should expect to receive Approvals immediately when an immigration officer reaches their application. I think previously the I/O will reach your application, send you RFE and then keep marching forward till he started to receive those RFE's back. Now some people are quick and some are slow, some sent thier RFE's quickly and some not. In my opinion, the I/O must have kept bouncing back and forth like a ping pong ball.

Therefore they have devised RFI, so that once I/O reaches the file, he would have everything in front of him to make a decision one way or another (fortunately mostly in favor of Asylees)

just my thoughts..

If i can remember as of mid of 2004 it is not required to do FP more than once because FBI has a device which can preserve FP`S forever.
