While talking to VSC, she told me that "my I485 application can't be processed at this time because visa is not available at this point of time". I asked her is this bcos of priority date retrogression, she said yes. TWhen I told her as per I140 notice approval my priority date is October 2001 (labour applied date), and Jan says bulletin priority date is Jan 1, 2002, she said some times USCIS rolls back this date

Does this mean Priority date is rolled back from Jan 2002 to some month in 2001?.

Mine is EB3 category. See signature for more details.

Thanks

Visa retrogression is done by dept of state !!!! How would the officer know if dates have rolled back...!!!

Now this is confusing...Do service centers individually take decision to roll back the dates....???Any guesses

some time back I was talking to Dept of state, she told me the decision of retrogress, and the dates decision taken care by USCIS, and Dept of state only publish those dates. This was the information given by the lady at Dept of state. I don't know how much she has the knowledge or she is a contract worker with half knowledge?

But the dates were not moved back. It is a wrong info.....call 202-663-1541 for the recorded info of February 2005.

Example #27,167 of the 1-800 number folks giving out the wrong info. The information you get is worth ever penny you pay for it. :)

As a thumb rule, "Don't trust the phone information from USCIS". It may or may not be right.

She just read the info from computer, what was just attached to my I-485 application.
