is PENDING the default status of an application: GURUS

when I called IIO on 8/5/00, he indicated it is pending. And did not
give any info. When I asked about the time frame for approval, he said
6 months.

So can I assume PENDING is the default status of a I485 application.

BTW: I am EB3:India pd 1/96 rd 4/99 nd 5/99 FP 6/15/00

I called the IO today. He told me that my application is pending. I shoould heear domething from them in 30-60 days. He also told me that right now they process applications around my notice date. I am fed up. I think the do not know what they are saying.
