Is P/T employment allowed?

Hi group:

My 485 is pending for about 14 months and I am on EAD. I have been employed by the same I-140 sponsor since 2001. I want to get a part-time job on weekends. The lawyer was negative about that.

Is this allowed? Is anyone on this board doing the same thing? Will I have trouble with immigration laws?

Of course it's legal - that's what an EAD lets you do. What was the attorney thinking?
