I129 was approved based on approved on approved I140. When going for stamping do i have to carry the original I140?
copy of approved I-140 is not needed for H1 stamping ( if you can get I-140 approval copy from employer it may be of some use in future)

While going for H1 stamping, first of all you will have to carry a copy of the I-129 application package that was submitted for your H1 extension by your employer. While submitting I-129 for your 3 year H1 extension based on 140, your employer must have enclosed a copy of your 140. So if you get the copy of I-129 related documents you should already have 140.
If I were you, I will make sure that I carry a copy of the approved 140 with me while going for H1 stamping. Also remember having copy of approved 140 will help you to hold on to your PD irrespective of whether you change employer or stick with the current one.
Also make sure you carry all the other documents that are normally expected while going for H1 stamping.
