Is Name check is done or still hanging???

Hello Friends,

Two days back I got an email update from CIS(below), I did my FP1 on last month 22nd, and Dec 6th I got these emails, does that mean my NAME CHECK is done already or still pending & will be done after the FP results issue to VST.

On November 30, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.

There's lot's of info on name checks if you search in this forum but, briefly, the name check is generally initiated around the time that you file the I-485 and apparently usually takes only about 1 month to clear. Unless there's a "hit" against the FBI databases then you could be in for a long (18+ month) wait. FWIW, my own name check apparently took 4+ months to clear.

Many of the people from this forum have faxed or emailed the FBI to check whether their name check has cleared (if it hasn't, you might be able to expedite it so your case doesn't get held up). Again, search this forum for more info (there are sample fax/email letters and the #/email address to use listed).

Thanks ETA, for clarification,

I also wanted to know, then why did VSC sent me updated email saying they have recieved my FP results, that means FP results are different from Name check, am I correct.
