Hello,

I filed my N-400 in Sep 2006 in Miami and my interview is MArch 12th. I read on the forum horror stories abt name check. Does this mean even after I pass interview I have wait more months or was it already done?

Thank you,
Srini

That is what a memo about mid last year stated, no interviewing before name check, but who know what is being following and what is not.

Hello everyone!

This pertains to N-400 (application for naturalization). Are they now scheduling interviews in Miami for folks who may not even have cleared the FBI name check yet? Or, if you get interviewed, you can safely assume that the name check has already been completed? In other words, does getting interviewed (Miami District Office) automatically imply that the name check has been completed and will not hold up your processing? Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

Rajiv.

This seems to be a theme this week.

Since last spring, the USCIS has been working under a policy of no interviews unless the security checks are all complete. Whether they follow the policy 100% of the time is another question.

In any case, getting your interview is a *very good* thing.
