Is my PR status still valid?

I landed in Canada as a permanent resident 2 years ago.
I returned to the U.S. right after landing in Canada (I work in the U.S.).
I have not returned to Canada since then.
Now I want to go to Canada and settle down. Is my permanent resident status still valid?

The Canadian Immigration official site says:
"Within any five (5) year period, a permanent resident must be:
physically present in Canada for at least 730 days (two (2) years) in that five (5) year period"

Thanks

really?

He has exceeded the limit and yet you say he is still valid!!

I am also in the same situation: Landed 2 years ago but stayed in the US instead..

It would be really great if Canada still accepts me into its borders..

Please provide any related feedback.

Thanks

Inders99 is Correct becase you have spent ONLY 2 years out of Canada you have valid PR to come back to Canada you do not meet the residency requiremnt if you stayed more than 3 yeras out of Canada
The current law is that you can stay out of Canada for 3 years from the date of Landing in any 5 years.

***the above statement is true it clearly means that you can stay out of Canada for 3 years and to maintain PR you should be IN Canada only for 2 years, if the person has stayed 2 years of Out of Canada then he/she has still 3 years balance from 5 years residencey requirement, he can enter Canada , No problem

Could you please let me know how he has exceeded the limit?

No, he did not exceed the limit

I am sorry; he did not exceed the limit.

I just thought he is under the old PR law where a permit is usually used if a person stays at least 6 months out of Canada.

Most experts say the new law is applicable to all residents..

I am in a situation where the I-485 in the US seems to get delayed because my I-485 was transferred to a different state to schedule an interview. So I am very careful because I think I will get the US Green Card in 1 or 1.5 years. However, my canadian PR limit is about to be reached. This is because I've already spent 2 years outside canada since I landed. I've already gotten the Canadian social security number and a library card but nothing else.

Again, I am sorry to say he exceeded the limit. He did not exceed the limit and he can return to Canada before he reaches the 3 year limit.

Thanks for your quick update.
