Is my mother's visitor visa approval affected by my impending h1b visa extension?

I am on a H1b visa and wanted to invite my mother over on a tourist visa to visit us in US this year.
My visa is due to expire in early March this year and the extension would be filed by lawyer in a couple of days.
It typically takes about 5-6 months to get the visa extension papers.
Fearing rejection for the visitor visa, is it advisable to wait for my h1b extension approval before my mom applies for a visa (i.e. in Julyish or so) or is it fine that she tries now (i.e. in January / February).
Infact has my h1b visa extension got anything to do with my mom's visitor visa?
FYI - The concerned embassy would be the Delhi embassy.

I suggest that you wait until you get your new approval. We had an individual at my company who's parent was denied a visa in the same situation (although it was at Chennai).
