Hi,
I am in a peculiar situation and want advice on the following matter. I did my Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from a top-5 university in US and then did a short 9 month postdoc at another top university. After that I moved to a small biotech on a J-1 (yes, they can postdocs people on J-1). My total postdoc experience has been 25 months. My J-1 expires Aug-2008 and for various reasons the only option I have is to apply for green card in the EB1-EA category. I will file for I-140 and I-485 concurrently (and also for EAD and AP)
My background is
1. 4 first author and 3 co-author papers with 34 total citations
2. 2 book chapters
3. served as a reviewer for a single journal and as a chair for an international conference in my field
4. 2 best paper awards and 2 travel grants/scholarships
5. Can get good recommendation letters from 3 independent experts and 6 present/former supervisors/collaborators
My questions are
1. What are the chances of my application getting approved under EB1-EA category with this background
2. Whats the avg time for the whole process (or atleast for getting the EAD).
Many thanks
