hey Guys,

I just called my attorney asking them to check my case status. They said that INS/BCIS has now number only automated voice responses/message and we cannot talk to any IIO.

First has anybody faced this problem, is it tue at all or My attorney is dumb ar..

True... from June 1st you can call the NSC they are centralizing the enquiries. BTW if you are in CA they are entertaining enquiries only if you have crossed 16 months from RD.

They are not THAT stupid....
to expect calls of enquiry on expired approvals..:D:D

EAD takes 4 months for approval
Approval is valid for 12 months

IIOs don't seem to be of much use anyways. They always give out vague ambiguous answers. If they can start adjudigating approvals instead of picking up the phone, I would welcome that!

Unless u r working for US Gov/INS/BCIS how would u know its 4 months for EAD across all centers. What about other petitions :D :D

what about address change.... FP.... how are going to check with BCIS... FAX/Email....telepathy...

Point is 1-800 customer service cannot give case specific help/guidance. IIO can atleast verify the records... not give out our approval dates... Sometimes it is neccessary to speak to somebody.... machines are just machines....website , automated machines they all can go wrong and never give u the right picture..

All immigration enquiries( AP,EAD etc etc) are going to be centralized starting June so yes its not going to be telepathy but a phone call to NSC . Why don't you try it before shouting out and one more thing .. Relax

Machines do right thing impartially
CONSISTENCY will be there.. gives same result all the time every time

Soumy can you give more info on that? I've crossed 19 months.

I called NSC yesterday (May 29, 2003). The IIO told me that I have to wait for two years, until November 2003, before they can initiate an inquiry. My receipt date is Nov. 19, 2001.
