that we don\'t need a VISA to travel to Canada from US if we are on H1 and have a valid I-94 ?

Please post any experiences !!

thanks

Not True

It depends on your country of citizenship, as far as I know of. I have been to canada twice, holding H1B Visa in the US, but in order to enter Canada, I have had to take Visitor Visa. I am a citizen of India.

Thanks !
Can you tell me what are the papers which I need to send if I need to get VISA ?
 I\'m planning to send my papers by mail to LA or Seattle Consulate Office. (I live in BayArea)

the things which I know are:

* Passport
* copy of my H1 approval document
* bank statement

If I\'m visiting my relative, do I need to get a letter from them.

What are the chances of denial ?
Do they give VISA to H1 holders easily...

please share your experiences

thanks once again.

You also need a letter from your employer that you are still employed.
Chances of denial is very less if you apply in person.

thanks for the response !
I\'ve couple more questions:

I live in Bay Area (San Franscisco) and I plan to travel to Vancouver in the first week of October.
If I fly to Seatle, then apply for the visa and then drive to Vacouver on a Rental Car, Is there any problem with it.
Is it allowed to take Rental Cars into Canada ?? Any problems while coming back into US ?

* Second option is I apply for the VISA by mail, and then fly to Vancouver !

what is the best option.

please advice.
