is it true???

My husband didn't sign up for the selective service, he knew nothing about it,as an illigall alien when he arrive here when he was 19. Recieved Resident card at 27 now at 32 want to apply for citizenship what will he need to do when feeling out the form? What is his options.

Hi Johnny,

I didn't think we could write to the FBI anymore. Who exactly do we write to?

Who says that people cannot write to FBI? If FBI has said so then it's just so that they could stop people from writing to them. People can write whoever they want, even to the President of the United States of America.

It's my suggestion that whenever someone chooses to write to FBI then it's always best to put in the end of the letter that copy is being sent to President of the United States of America, or Vice President of the United States of America as cc too. Because this way it will get their instant attention to move quickly on your case. I've known a few cases to have moved so quickly whenever people wrote to FBI Director but in the end of their letter they did mention about sending the same letter to President or Vice President too even if they might have not sent the copy of their letter to anyone.

Search for a recent BoatBod posting about selective Service and age 31. If his posting is correct, your husband should be good to go.

Yes, however he'll probably still need to get a status letter from the folks at SSA.

No, you don't need to wait to prove an establishment of residency in your state because you already filed the application before moving to this new place. Establishing a residency in a state comes in the picture only BEFOR filing N-400.

And since you have moved to this new location more than 6 months ago, then you can now start being proactive. Good luck.

That's what I thought. Do you or anyone have a template to write a letter to the FBI Director or the President / Vice President of the United States of America?

Actually there is no any specific/prescribed template/format for such kinds of letters because this is very unsual situation. However, you might like to search the postings of one of the previous posters/members who wrote to First Lady which made her case to have gotten a prompt attention; otherwise she was waiting for a long time to hear from INS. I think her name is Suzy977, but she hasn't been around for a year because she got banned last year around this time. And I'm not sure if she posted the format of such letter because I wasn't around here as well for a long time, but I do remember of many people having asked her to help them in formatting the letter. Some even wrote to First Lady following her footsteps. If you don't find anything, then just write a brief/simple and to-the-point letter, which should contain your basic info.

Good luck...

Who in the FBI does the letter need to be address to? Robert Mueller or the director of the NNCP program?

I would write to Robert Mueller because writing a letter to lower people wouldn't get the attention which is needed to get the result. But don't forget to write in the end of the letter that copy is being also forwarded to President of the United States of America as well, which certainly would get their attention; otherwise they might throw your letter somewhere in the garbage because even though you will write a letter addressed to Mr. Mueller, he won't read/get it; rather his secy will get it and would foward it to proper unit/person to take action.

Alright, thank you so much Johnny, i will get to writing that letter today. Hopefully, it will get something going before i file my 1447b. Thanks.

The online case status on USCIS website says that my dad's N400 application is in Vermont Service Center. But, vermont center does not have processing dates for N400 application. He did his fingerprint one year ago and his case has still not moved to district office?

Even though the application is at the VSC, your district office determines the processing time. Look up the N-400 processing times for your DO. In all likelihood, they are less than 1 year.

Search this forum for "name check" - that's probably what is happening to your dad. I think he can find this out by calling the 800 number (they probably won't give you his information).

Good luck
