Is it possible to use EAD and H1 at the same time?

Guys,

I am working on H1-B and have just received my EAD. My H1 is going expire on 31st March but my company has already applied for H1 extension 3-4 weeks ago. I wanted to work on some part time/weekend job. Is it possible to use EAD for part time for some other employer and working on H1 with the sponsering employer?
Will H1 be invalid if I use EAD for part time work? Please advise.
