Is it possible to change from sinle entry to multiple entry

Hi folks,

If a visa issues with single entry, is it possible to change it to multiple entry after coming to US?

You can go to Canada / Mexico and do that (without risking deportation from there). However, you need a good explanation why you got the single entry in the first place. I am assuming that you are still in your home country, in which case you will be asked to go to the same consulate to get multiple entry..

In fact this is for a friend. He got his h1b while he was here with tourist visa.

So, once he get out from US, when he goes to consulate in his home country, can he change it to multiple entry in there?
