Is It Possible ?!! Am I Almost There ?!!

Hello all,

I had a pending marriage based I-485 for almost 3 years and my name check was stuck since July of 2005, I just received an email from the USCIS saying that they transfered my case to my local Indianapolis office ?!!

Does that mean I am finally close to getting my Green Card ?!! If so, what can I expect during the interview and what kind of paperwork would I need to take with me ?

First step is to check your Priority date is current. Then Check the waiting period in Local office.

If the original poster has a marriage based pending I-485, then we can safely assume (99% probability) that the sponsor of the original poster is a USC. There are no numerical limits on spouses of US citizens. Thus no priority date issue. If the sponsor is a GC holder (1% chance), then since the I-485 is already in the works, the priority date must have been current in July 2005 itself.

First step is to check your Priority date is current. Then Check the waiting period in Local office.
