i'm thinking should i file i-130 and also send the visit visa papers to my mother, would that be a problem?

if visit visa is rejected for some reason then i still have my i-130 is going, the purpose is, i dont want to waste my time.

any advice?

Why don't u wait until after the interview and see what happens. I thought one could do AOS for their parents when they get here on a visitors visa. i might be wrong.

Yes that can be done but USCIS prefers the CP route.
