Is it ok using revalidated H-1B visa to travel abroad after I-485 is filed?

Hi Guys,

I am on H-1B status right now. Now I am ready to file I-485 and I also want to revalidate my H-1B visa. I am wondering after I filed I-485, am I still be able to use my revalidated H-1B visa to travel abroad.

Also I heard that after I-485 is filed, If I want to travel abroad using my revalidated H-1B, I also have to show the I-485 receipt to come back into US, is this true?

You could use H1-B visa to enter US after filing I-485. I am in the same boat. My attorney adviced me to carry the original I-485 just in case its asked at POE.

I entered US twice after filing my I-485 on H1-B visa and I was not asked to produce the original receipt notice.

Dont offer the I485 receipt voluntarily. Many Junior officers do not know that employment based I485 applicants dont need a AP and can travel using H or L visas. Might unnecessarily cause hassle and delay.
