Is it OK to take a break after GC approved

I think I have heard that after GC is approved, one is okay to take a long break. Would someone please clarify this issue, I’m sure others would also like to know.

Now that my GC has been approved, I want to go back home for a month quitting my current job (if I don’t get one month off).

1. Will I be asked to show letter from employer in or out of US?
2. If I quit and go back, will there be any problem?
3. Up to how long am I allowed to stay out of US?
4. What documents should I bring with me in case they want to see?

I appreciate very much if anybody can answer any of these questions.

Hi

Would wait until you have green card in your hand before you go anywhere. A one month trip should bot be a problem. If you are going out of the usa for months and months you should apply for a reentry permit before you leave the usa

Thank you Susan. I do have my GC and I also have AP.
My concerns are mostly related to job (or not having a job) while travelling.

Thanks

ap is not the same as reentry permit. i'm not sure if you can use ap after green card. thank you for keeping us posted.
