Is It Legal To Start Business With Ead?

Many people confuse starting a company in US with working for that company. Here is my understanding.
Even when you are on H1, H4 any other visa including tourist visa you can start a company in USA.
You can start a company in USA when you are not physically present here or you never visited USA and live in a foreign country. You can start and register your company from internet or you can start a company through mail also.
Ofcourse if we are present here we can start a company by filling and submitting the form any way we want, it has nothing to do with our status.
So when does status come into play?
For example, lets say you are on H1 or H4 and you started a company. You can not work for that company legally, you can have other people work for you, you can not get a pay check or act as an executive because you do not have a valid H1 or other permit to work for your own company. You will ofcourse get the profits/loss other stuff.
If you have an EAD/Green Card it authorizes you to work for any one including the companies you own.
If you are on a H1 Visa with some company now, you can not own that orginization. Also even if you do not own it completely, you can have only less than 5% of the controlling share of the company if you work for it with H1.
Again, whatever I mentioned here is just my understanding, do not take it as a legal advise. I am not an expert in this subject. Just stating my understanding in the forum here so that whoever reads it can further research it and find out the facts themselves.
