Is it legal or not for F1 visa??

I have a question regarding to the F1 visa holder. I got an email from a small company, they want me to advertise their new small software, such as telling people that might need this software and maybe advertise some small
ads on the local newpaper or maybe on the internet and something like that. I just do some advertise work and nothing else. I will not do any other work for them nor I am an employee. This may will take me 4-5hours/month. They
promise they will give me some rewards (commission) if the ads work well. I don't know if it is legal for me to do so? That's more likely a dealer. In my opinion, I don't do business myself, never, I just help them advertise. SO could you give me some advise on it?

This looks like a classic scam. Is it one of those internet based business and get-rich-quick scheme that show up in many TV infomercials?
Don't get into it, you will only lose your money!!
