Is it dangerous to get unemployment money during the EBGC process?

Worked as H-1b, got EAD, shortly after that lost my job:( .
Now try to find another one.
I know that I should work in the appropriate filed in the moment of getting green card or RFE.
So, can I apply for unemployment now?
Any suggestions?:confused:

From what I have heard - Do not file for unemployment - It may even impact you citizenship later on. My 2 cents.

Strongly suggest that do not do that. Your GC is not yet in hand and it can cause an issue as you are not supposed to be burden on State.

It can later come back for citizenship too. So if possible avoid it.
