Is it common/legal discard candidates using EAD?

I had a job offer, potential employer very interested in my skills apparently.
The job requires no US citizenship, only it requires that alien is authorized to work in the US.
Then HR came up asking if I had greencard. I explained I was an Adjustee and my I-485 petition is pending, EAD available and that allows me to work for other employers.

Well, from there they didn't even want to talk to me anymore next day.

Have you ever seen such story ?

marlon,

No one is racially descriminating against you. This is not illegal issue but yes this is very common. I guess this is an education issue. If you can convince potential employer that will be great. I had an offer which would have doubled my salary. But when told that I am in the process of getting greencard, they turned away.

thks,
