Someone told me that is better to file the I-140 first and then the I-485 (probably few days later).... is that true???
I was planning to concurrent file my I-140 and I-485 (Texas Service Center).

Thanks for your help!

There is no advantage or an indication of advantage filing I-140 first and then the I-485. I guess some people were playing on that theory some time back, based on a pattern of approvals.

From what I know

Fativale,

My lawyer told me that a 485 application cannot be approved without an approved 140. Knowing this I don't see the point of applying for the 485 before the 140. Although I don't think anyone will object to it. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Ok, if you file 485 after two months of filing 140, the office who receives the 485, will need to update the details in 140 as well, i think so or send info the office who is working on 140.

Becuase in my case my company had filed 140 on Aug 27th,

and i filed (from my pocket ) 485 in Nov, the RD - 11/05, there was an LUD on 140 as well, that may trigger the officer to update some thing on the 140 as well, i;m just assuming.

but approval may not be dependent on that logic....

Have you ever asked someone why it is better to file the I-140 first?
