Is it allowed to L1 to open a partnership business

I'm Holding an L1A visa. Is it allowed to open a partnership business with
your wife (L2 +EAD Card)?
I don't work in this partnership but rather invested in it with her.
She is the only worker but we share the profits with me.
We already did it and now I'm afraid we did something wrong.
Was is ok?
 
as long as the L1 visa holder does not work for the business everthing is okay. you can be a limited partner and receive dividends. as your spouse has an EAD, they can be the general partner.
 
As an L visa holder you may only work and draw salary from the sponser of your L visa

Your wife has L 2 dependant and can do what she wants so long as she has work autho

May be better to 50-50 company
